MECAF*11
The Maine Comic Arts Festival is one of the nicest, little conventions you'll ever attend or vend at. The people of Maine are very sweet, accommodating and interested in art. I was really happy to come back this year and bring along my friend and hip artist Cat to get her infected with the MECAF bug.
I drew a nice selection of portraits...
view more portraits here and don't forget to tag yourself!
and finished up designs for a new sticker set...
and watched the tide come in...

Chris, Blake and I are NO BIG DEAL.
I played Rock Band for the first time yesterday. I got a master vocals on easy for "Combat Baby" by Metric and 80% on Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Oo La La! Blake and Chris rocked on pro level- UNISON BONUS.

I went to old friend Joo Young Choi's Cosmic Womb solo show closing the other night! I haven't seen her in many years and it was awesome to see her work in person. She's got such an incredible style that's full of beautiful realistic detail melded with thick lines, critters, toothy monsters and intense color!
This one of her sister and her is one of my favorites. I want to snuggle all in the details of that quilt.
She also made a slew of teenies: little monsters and experimental abstract works (with the song she was listening to while making them written on the back).
