kokeshi

Today I started working on a series of kokeshi dolls. I have a total of 10 designs I'd like to execute and make 5 of each design (plus one for myself... so 6 of each design). These girls are actually complete- but are drying. I made them from wood beads and candle holders using acrylics, faux monkey mohair fur, tiny cloth flowers, a gem and coated them in resin. They will be in my store soon. ;)

Gallery is Asheville's newest and coolest art gallery that represents a selection of illustrators and pop artists, provides studio space for locals and is in general really awesome. I'm kinda sad they haven't invented the transporter yet so I could check it out. If you're in the Asheville area you should!

Rock & Shock

Rock and Shock rocked our pants off! We had so much fun this year and met so many great people. Our booth was looking quite nice as well this year with our addition of an extra table and twice as much merchandise! I drew a slew of gorey portraits and a few cute commissions. We can't wait for next year!

The opening reception for Chanel Vs. Harajuku was a grand time! There were a ton of people who came out include a few classes from SHOWA. Cat took some great pictures of the reception that you can see on her flicker stream.
