Dr. Sketchy's

sounds like: "I Get Around" Beach Boys

It was finally nice and dry enough to take pictures of my drawings from this past Sunday's Dr. Sketchy's Session. All proceeds from the session went to Aliza's Brain Trust to help Aliza with living expenses while she is getting better and unable to host marvelous shows in Boston. Alix Mortis did an exceptional job as this session's model and host. I also got some stickers of Jojo's Aliza drawings and won the brain drawing contest. Matt and I were unexpectedly (well, does anyone see it coming?) harassed by a bum itchin' for a fix on our way out. I love you, Allston.

Until the weather lets up I won't be able to take decent pictures from the last Dr. Sketchy's session... here's a sneak peak.

Aliza Brain Trust

sounds like: "The Cactus Where Your Heart Should Be" The Magnetic Fields

Since the last Dr. Sketchy's session, Aliza's Brain Trust has been set up for helping ease the recovery of the Boston Dr. Sketchy chapter's Host Aliza Shapiro. Aliza suffered a brain hemorrhage last week and has been in the hospital every since. She organizes the most incredible alternative arts events in Boston and makes art- which means she doesn't have health care. So in the wake of this horrible tragedy is the looming evil of medical bills and recovery hindering active self-employment. The Aliza Brain Trust has had a generous outpouring of donations and needs more. Healing your noodle ain't cheap! I donated. You should too.

Two drawings to the Dr. Sketchy's Tumblr from the session last week.

Dr. Sketchy's

sounds like: "That's Him Over There" Nina Simone

Last night I attended Dr. Sketchy's Night Session with Amy Danse Macabre and Miss Brandy Wine. Our lovely host, Aliza was sadly absent due to a medical emergency and was sorely missed. Miss Porcelaine Dalya filled in for her and did a snappy job in a beautiful wide brim black hat. I drew it up with dear friend Cat~ beautiful booties, shake weights and all...

Dr. Sketchy

I've missed the past four months of Dr. Sketchy's Boston Session- having hoped to go, but either had something come up, a show to vend or just didn't have the extra cash (curse you poor economy!). However, the stars were aligned and I was determined to attend my first Tuesday night session as I will, again, be at convention (Connecticon!) for the next Sunday session in July. By great fortune the model for the evening was the Bunny Collaborative performance group of Walter and Sickert & the Army of Broken Toys. Of course this stunning crew of artist made for beautiful drawings...

crabapple

I woke up from a sickly slumber to find Justin Moore's message notifying me Molly Crabapple blogged one of my sketchy drawing on her personal blog. That's enough awesome to remedy some sinus suffering! And in case your curious- it's on the Dr. Sketchy's tumblr as well along with a lot of other Boston chapter submissions.

I've heard it's the sun, but my internet has been slow, interrupted and unhappy the past few days. boo.

Here are some nicer photos of my drawings from this past weekend's Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School session at Great Scott with Lolli Hoops and Juicy. It was Boston Chapter's 4th birthday and around 70 people turned up to draw the two lovely models! There were brownies and booties all around! To see some more of my drawings from the session and prior sessions, please check out my facebook gallery.

Back from Boston's Dr. Sketchy's and sleepy. Here is one of my 20 minute pose drawings. We had two models this time and they threw a lot of challenging poses our way! I'll have better photos of all my drawings later in the week, but now is for rest and finishing my tiger lily skull girl!

Caroline and I went to Truth Serum's Dr. Sketchy's Boston Chapter at Great Scott on Sunday to draw Persephone! I won some tickets to TraniWreck on Thursday in a drawing contest, saw some cool rigging and got my draw on hardcore.

I'm going to have to take better pictures of my drawings this weekend... Since it's winter, I'm always at work when it's light out. Thank you blizzard..!
