sounds like: "crown on the ground" sleigh bells Friends Cat and Jen visited the Brooklyn Art Library, checked out my Sketchbook and sent me a picture! See more pictures from their visit at Cat's Flickr.
I haven't drawn at a show in a very long time and even then I only did portraits of the audience, but this time I'll be drawing the band as they preform! It's a sold out show already because the Army of Broken Toys is the bomb, so those of you who scored tickets- prepare yourselves for the ultimate 'artsperience.' Zoe Keating / Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys on Friday, March 11, 2011, 8:00 p.m. @ Cafe 939.
Zoë Keating is a one-woman orchestra. She uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to record layer upon layer of cello, to create lush, beautiful and otherworldly music. Increasingly considered a role model for DIY artists, her self-released albums have sold over 35,000 copies and her latest album, Into the Trees, spent 14 weeks on the Billboard classical charts.
Boston Music Award 2010 Live Artist of the Year nominee Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys bring their musically sophisticated Dada-esque circus carnival run amuck to the Red Room. Admission: $12/GA from Cafe939.com

I woke up from a sickly slumber to find Justin Moore's message notifying me Molly Crabapple blogged one of my sketchy drawing on her personal blog. That's enough awesome to remedy some sinus suffering! And in case your curious- it's on the Dr. Sketchy's tumblr as well along with a lot of other Boston chapter submissions.
I've heard it's the sun, but my internet has been slow, interrupted and unhappy the past few days. boo.
Here are some nicer photos of my drawings from this past weekend's Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School session at Great Scott with Lolli Hoops and Juicy. It was Boston Chapter's 4th birthday and around 70 people turned up to draw the two lovely models! There were brownies and booties all around! To see some more of my drawings from the session and prior sessions, please check out my facebook gallery. Photo by Aliza Shapiro of TruthSerum.org
sounds like: "siren" bat for lashes Back from Boston's Dr. Sketchy's and sleepy. Here is one of my 20 minute pose drawings. We had two models this time and they threw a lot of challenging poses our way! I'll have better photos of all my drawings later in the week, but now is for rest and finishing my tiger lily skull girl!
Zombie Holocaust posted a feature in her blog today about my work! Check it out!
"Today's shop makes me happy on multiple levels. Her artwork is so disgusting and absolutely adorable. Sick spin offs of some of my favorite things, Alice in Wonderland, Marie Antoinette, even my dirty secret love of anime."
Also be sure to check out the Etsy team we are both apart of, Horror Couture!
I finished Dirty Secrets, but haven't gotten around to scanning the finished product. I started doing this girl on a whim last night while watching Leon. I'm thinking about background and she needs some highlighting. Ooo la la. I'm also working on this girl, but she's coming along far slower:
sounds like: "combat baby" metric Thank you Nor'easters from hell, this baby is nearly complete. I finished the background and ground- each have around four to five layers of ink or gouache.
